The Psychotherapeutic approach practiced at Mindworks is Confidential, One to One, Integrative, long term or brief focused Therapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults.
Integrative Therapy means that different Psychotherapeutic approaches are integrated into the counselling process to meet the individual needs of the client, for example, Cognitive Behavioural therapy may be used within the counselling to work with negative belief systems and to practice new behaviours, as well as a psychodynamic approach to uncover and work with past childhood trauma. Additionally, Imagery, Hypnosis and Art Therapy can be used an adjunct to the Integrative therapy and are very effective within such a process. Imagery, Hypnosis and Art Therapy are incorporated only with consent of the client, or if working with children, the person with parental responsibility .
Issues worked with include; Low self worth; lack of confidence; identity; stress; anxiety; depression; relationship issues; sexuality; bereavement; loss; separation; divorce; bullying; childhood issues; sexual/ physical/ emotional abuse; trauma; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; behavioural issues; phobias;separation anxiety; school phobia; boundary issues; ADHD; self harm;parenting issues.
Areas worked in include: Independent Practice; Occupational health; Special Needs; Primary Middle and High Schools; Primary Care; Social Services; Young Offenders; Charitable Organisation working with Teenagers; Charitable Organisations working with Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse; Charitable organisation working with Domestic Violence; Critical Incident Debriefing for Business and Emergency Services; Child Protection Advice and Professional Support for Management in schools.
Counselling is held in private self contained premises away from the main building at Ringsfield, Beccles.
